Access Controls & Construction Project Coordinator
Under supervision of the Director of Facilities Management, this person will coordinate the access controls system, video surveillance system and related security database. This person will also coordinate various types of internal facilities construction projects from design through construction while efficiently tracking these projects and associated budgets.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Responsible for the access controls system that protects the University Hospitals Authority and Trust facility assets. - Responsible for the daily management of the database system that houses all of the access controls information. - Coordinates installations, maintenance and repairs for all locking devices, related hardware on all doors, including low voltage electric door hardware, access control system controllers and related components. - Oversees scheduled preventative maintenance on all locking devices, IP and analog cameras and electronic systems. - Oversees daily and periodic reports as required. - Performs scheduled inspections of access controls database to verify no errors. - Ensures departmental records and access rights records are properly maintained and accurate. - Coordinates database management of access controls system and other related databases. - Oversees badging related tasks, assignment of access rights, printing and distribution of access cards - Coordinate documentation of access controls system configuration and procedures - Coordinates internal bid/award activities for construction or related projects - Communicates and provides reports to Director of Facilities Management showing project progress, issue resolutions and timelines - Reviews projects for possible value engineering while still maintaining energy efficiencies - Tracks budget and schedule and develop reports as directed - Conducts scheduled weekly construction meeting to review project status, develop punch lists and commission the project - Coordinates the activities of the construction teams - Tracks payments to design professionals, contractors, vendors and/or other construction management firms associated to projects - Manages and tracks construction budget for each project - Provides oversight for the installation of projects
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must possess the ability to plan, lead, organize and communicate with team members - Knowledge of all phases of building construction including work commonly done by the various building trades - Must possess the ability to read and understand construction documents - Knowledge and skills of effective communications with colleagues and public (written and oral). - Must have working knowledge of database structure and compatibility with other programs. - Basic understanding of networks and infrastructure that access controls system will operate on. - Basic understanding of MS Office, MS Outlook, SQL, AutoCAD, Revit and Internet
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Management or related discipline from an accredited program or an equivalent combination of education and experience - 5 years of applicable experience
