New Year-New Reasons to Smile

dentistry smileThe New Year brings with it a lot of focus on change. Some will vow to change their diet while others may promise to exercise more.

But experts at the OU College of Dentistry say the start of a new year is a great time to think about changes that impact the health of your teeth too.

Advances in dentistry can give you plenty to smile about in the year ahead.

Tips for a Healthier Smile

  1. See your dentist regularly
  2. Stop smoking
  3. Cut down on soft drink consumption
  4. Consider bleaching for whiter, brighter teeth

James Kessler, DD and his colleagues at the OU College of Dentistry also recommend that parents consider sealants for their children when their adult molars begin to come in. Since nearly all cavities in children occur on the biting surface of their teeth, sealants are a great way to protect your child's teeth.
